Senior Purchasing Agent
The Senior Purchasing Agent is responsible for the management and administration of all purchasing functions including contract procurement, estimating, budgeting, purchase orders, and accurate maintenance of HomeFront.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise staff within the department and lead team meetings
- Review completed tasks in the department for accuracy and quality
- Continually seek out new subcontractors, trades, and vendors
- Obtain bids, negotiate, and maintain contracts
- Pursue, submit, and monitor rebate programs
- Thoroughly and accurately estimate and budget projects
- Revise estimates based on plan revisions
- Identify areas for controlling and reducing costs
- Input and maintain accurate pricing and options in HomeFront
- Coordinate ARC plan submittal, permit applications, tap requests, and electric meter requests
- Create and issue purchase orders as each home is released for construction
- Ensure invoices are accurate, investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
- Manage deadlines and complete assignments in a timely manner
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS [required]
- 2 years of HomeFront Suite software experience
- 5 years of purchasing experience with a production homebuilder
- Previous experience supervising employees
- Thorough understanding of the homebuilding process and construction terminology
- Thorough understanding of purchasing and estimating processes and procedures
- Self-starter that can effectively manage multiple projects with the ability to prioritize
- Excellent communication, math, negotiation, and analytical skills
- High level of professionalism and customer service
- Ability to follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
